 Immersion in the   Vineyard

Découverte du vignoble

Did you know that over 1000 vineyards have already chosen to convert to organic viticulture? The world of wine is often seen as a traditional sector, where changes are slow (especially in the Old World). Changes in practices can have significant impacts on yields. Sometimes, it seems like the world is evolving while wines remain unchanged (which adds to their charm ^^). However, environmental concerns are gaining ground among consumers, prompting winemakers to adapt (even though some have been pioneers in this regard). This transition reflects a commitment to sustainability and a better integration of environmentally friendly practices in the wine industry.

BIODYNAMIC, ORGANIC, VEGAN AND NATURAL WINE: WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?

Many châteaux in Bordeaux have adopted the principles of biodynamics. Immerse yourself in the world of these passionate professionals, share their commitment, and engage in conversation during a winemaker's brunch, in an exceptional setting, in the vineyards. Take advantage of this unique opportunity to learn more about environmentally friendly practices, biodynamic farming methods, and the benefits they offer both for the quality of the wines and for the preservation of our land. Come and experience an authentic journey, in harmony with nature, and let yourself be enchanted by the magic of Bordeaux vineyards.

Sharing convivial moments

During your stay, we invite you to meet a passionate couple of winemakers who have chosen to produce their wine according to the principles of biodynamics. Their approach is primarily aimed at preserving and improving the soils they work with. Indeed, in biodynamics, the main objective of winemaking is to consider the vineyard, the land, and their entire ecosystem as a single entity to protect. This involves the use of environmentally friendly agricultural methods, such as crop rotation, natural composting, and the use of plant-based preparations to enhance vine health and promote biodiversity.

For a unique experience in the vineyards, we recommend you to follow the self-guided walking tour of the Bardet vineyard. This leisurely stroll allows you to explore the vineyards at your own pace, learn more about viticulture techniques, and enjoy wine tastings directly on-site. It's an immersive and enriching way to discover the secrets of Bordeaux's vineyards while appreciating the natural beauty of the region.

We invite you to continue this exploration of the terroir by hopping on an electric bike to explore the hillsides of the iconic vineyard of Saint-Emilion, its wineries, and its UNESCO-listed medieval village. Stop by its emblematic monolithic church. From the ancient Greek "mono," meaning "unique," and "lithos," meaning "stone," its name describes a building carved inside the limestone plateau, with its current structure still forming a single block.

The Bordeaux-based startup "La Bulle Verte" offers an immersive and interactive experience through unique tours accessible by scanning a QR Code. Once the QR Code is scanned, you'll be directed to a personalized web app that provides a complete and detailed itinerary. This tour not only allows you to discover the place you're visiting but also provides insights into its history, culture, and peculiarities. With enriching information and captivating anecdotes, you can explore every corner in a playful and educational manner.

BAYSIDE - A HAVEN OF NATURE & OYSTER TRADITION

PHOTO D4ARCACHON

Did you know that the Bassin d’Arcachon is undoubtedly the smallest area in France to benefit from such a high level of environmental protection measures and classified sites?! It's a kind of "safeguard": we love and share the Bassin, but we take care of it too...

The Bassin d’Arcachon is a culinary stop not to be missed during your visit in Bordeaux. Due to its popularity in summer, it is important to preserve it, and its inhabitants are dedicated to preserving local traditions, especially maintaining a healthy environment to sustain oyster farming and fishing, which are drivers of the local economy. With over 300 producers, the Bassin d’Arcachon accounts for nearly 10% of oyster production in France. It is possible to enjoy oysters outdoors all year round (weather permitting).

That's why we invite you to explore it aboard an environmentally friendly boat. Embark on a cruise to discover its treasures: the Banc d’Arguin, Bird Island, its oyster farming villages on the Arcachon or Cap-Ferret sides... And of course, the iconic Dune du Pilat.

Take advantage of this excursion to learn more about the still very present oyster farming tradition locally. Taste the oysters directly at their source and discover their secrets of production.

A flagship product on Christmas tables, oyster shells can be repurposed and serve once consumed. Oyster shells mixed with mortar have been used by the Department to fill two underground quarries in Haute-Gironde, in order to prevent road collapses.

Our recommendation is to make a stop at one of the typical oyster cabins in the region. There, you can enjoy freshly caught oysters of the day, accompanied by a glass of local wine. There's nothing quite like the pleasure of tasting these marine delights while soaking in the authentic and laid-back atmosphere of the cabins, with stunning views of the Bassin d'Arcachon. It's an essential experience for seafood and regional gastronomy lovers alike, and an ideal way to discover the culinary and cultural richness of this beautiful region.

Did you know that Bordeaux, a true gem of southwestern France, offers an extraordinary experience for history and culture enthusiasts?! Exploring the historic streets of this iconic city is embarking on a captivating journey through the ages, where every corner unveils a part of its rich architectural and cultural heritage.

From the majestic 18th-century facades adorning the famous Place de la Bourse to the sturdy Porte Cailhau, an imposing vestige of medieval ramparts, and the renowned rue Sainte-Catherine, one of Europe's longest shopping streets, each place bears witness to the city's flourishing history.

The Basilica of Saint-Michel, with its Gothic tower reaching towards the sky and offering a breathtaking panoramic view, is a remarkable testament to medieval religious architecture. Similarly, strolling through the Chartrons district transports you to a world where cobbled streets and traditional shops evoke the golden age of Bordeaux's wine trade.

Whether you're a history enthusiast, a gastronomy lover, or simply seeking authenticity, Bordeaux promises an unforgettable cultural experience where history and modernity elegantly blend.

As Bordeaux enthusiasts at heart, our advice for enjoying the city is to soak up its friendly atmosphere by sitting on the terrace of one of its many picturesque squares. There's nothing like sipping a coffee or a glass of local wine while observing the tranquil rhythm of Bordeaux life. Another must-do option is to pack a picnic and head to the banks of the Garonne River. There, you can indulge in local products while enjoying the view of the river and admiring the magnificent urban panorama. It's a perfect way to immerse yourself in the local culture and fully experience the relaxed and sunny atmosphere of Bordeaux.
