After only three editions, the Bordeaux Marathon should reach the 20,000 participants threshold. The keys to its success are to travel through both the historic centre and the vineyards of the town. Marathon, half-marathon and marathon relay complete each other in the afternoon with a race for the little ones.
This 42.195 km race, as the rule requires, will cross the very heart of the city, within the UNESCO World Heritage Site as well as several cities in the Bordeaux metropolis. Runners will be able to enjoy the passage in exceptional places steeped in history such as Place de la Bourse, the stone bridge, the Cailhau Gate, Place de la Victoire, St Michel's Basilica, Ste Croix Church, Place Gambetta, the Public Garden, the Esplanade of the Quinconces, the Grand Theatre, Place Pey-Berland, the quays, etc.
Another specificity of the Bordeaux Metropole Marathon is that it is run at night, becoming the first night marathon in France. The heart of the Bordeaux Metropole Marathon will beat to the rhythm of the Partners and Exhibitors Village located along the Garonne quays, a few hundred metres from the finish line opposite Place de la Bourse.

This event has conquered visitors year after year and will celebrate its 20th anniversary! On this occasion, 69 winegrowers of the appellation will open their properties to you to let you discover the other side of the coin at the end of the harvest, but above all to meet the men and women who work with know-how and passion to create the great Graves wines that we know today, whether they are red, white or sweet.
